Somalia is a country have open boundary with Ethiopia, Kenya and Djibouti and the neighboring countries have affected hive/aids and most of Somalia people were fled to these countries to survive the civil war in Somalia for that reason many people back to their original countries with positive hive/aids and the number of infected hive/Aids was high among the virus was new to the Somalia population and discriminated the positive people and the people living with hive hiv/aids in Somalia for that reason TALO organization was established to give awareness and train the Somalia communities how to prevent hiv/aids and how it can be transmitted the virus.
TALO Organization is based in Mogadishu and dedicated to limit HIV/AIDS and eradicate sexual transmitted infections (STIs) and female genital mutilation (FGM) in Somali communities.
TALO organization is no a non-governmental, or political and not profit making. the establishment of this organization emerged due to overall unstable situation in the country, Since Teenagers were among the most affected and infected of HIV/AIDS and most vulnerable to this Virus.
This organizational development assessment is a component of GFATM Strengthen Civil Society in Somalia (SOCSIS) and was done to examine and determining where the organization stands in its organizational development, the assessment is part of Oxfam Novib and Global Fund year 3 partnerships on HIV/AIDS. Furthermore the assessment was intended to review seven areas of the NGO’s organizational development that are; Governance, Management Practice, Human Resource, Financial Resources, Service Delivery, External Relations and Sustainability.
TALO member and staff has participated the capacity building and TALO has implemented phase2 and Phase 3 on outreach hive /aids awareness project funded by Global fund, Oxfam Novib and TALO had contributed these projects successfully implemented in Mogadishu-Somalia.
